PhotoTime App Reviews

7 Customer Reviews:

Because this app was free, I figured I would try it out for fun.. Its ok.. almost the same as photobooth but has a few more effects. For an app thats less than 1mb, I say download it while its free and keep it as a fun little app to show friends or perhaps use it to make artistic looking pictures.. I dont think I would pay for this.

Great app

This app is amazing. Photo quality is so clear. It’s very easy to get various effects on the photos. Love it !

***Update 1.0.1*** Thanks for the fix, but Im still waiting for more effects! Also, if you could change the effect selector to be more like Photo Booths, instead of clicking arrows, that would be great! This is a great app, with LOTS of interactive effects! But why did I give it three stars? Not because of the Lion Snapshot Bug. Because we need more effects! Most of the effects here are unique though. Motion FX has over 80 effects, last time I checked… Bring the count up to 50 or something and Ill change my review to 5 stars! Thanks!

The photo effects on this are pretty unique compared to other webcam apps, but it definitely needs some software updates. First off, You can only take a photo by clicking the camera button, yet for some of the effects you need to move the mouse around to get the look you want. You should be able to hit Enter to take a photo. Second, the photos cannot be dragged and dropped into a folder, you have to save each file individually. You must also delete photos individually. We should be able to select multiple photos with the Command/Splat+Click function. In a nut shell, its very fun but its time consuming to sort through the images later on, so if you take lots of photos be careful!

Ive never before purchased something so clearly thrown together from the App Store. Id hoped to expand my Photo Booth experience, which I often use in creation of art. So for two bucks, I figured I couldnt go wrong. And its true, despite the fact that this was a total waste. Its only two bucks. But a little thought would have gone a long way. Many of the effects require moving the mouse over the image to change or control it. Fine. But then you must use the mouse to click on the Camera button... which obviates your choices in the image. Duh? The screen refresh rate on my 2010 Mac Book Pro varied from total freeze that I thought would require a forced quit to about 2x per second, nothing like the life view in Photo Booth. In addition, it did something that brought the MBP to a complete crawl, requiring that I force-quit both this dog and the App Store before I got back to normal. The images are hideously low in resolution and contrast, making them completely useless for my purposes. That isnt a condemnation of the program; nowhere does it guarantee to be good for me. But I could have made an informed choice if the developers website werent a lousy, useless page advising you to "enjoy the program." In short, dont waste your time or money hoping for good quality images, a sensible interface, or a whole lot of creativity here. Had it been more than $2 I might be seeking a refund. I might anyway.
